Our marriage conference is meant to equip married couples to grow in their knowledge of Gods design for marriage and provide practical tools to grow together. Whether you’ve been married for less than a year or 50 years, this conference will have something for you.

We believe this conference will yield benefits for years to come! Please join us as we intentionally invest in our marriages!

About the Speakers

We are so excited for Bob and Karen Smart to teach us! Bob and Karen have been married for 40 years, raised five children, and enjoy their nineteen grandchildren. Dr. Bob Smart (PhD University of Wales) was honored as the senior pastor emeritus of Christ Church, PCA (Bloomington-Normal, IL) after 31 years, and serves now as Pastor of Spiritual Formation at Large. Bob and Karen regularly teach conferences. Bob has published on Jonathan Edwards and revival, marriage, parenting, spiritual warfare, and four seasons of Gospel transformation. To give you an idea behind some of Bob’s heart for thriving marriages, here is a short excerpt from Bob’s book:

Coming to terms with your, and your spouse’s, brokenness is necessary for a healthy marriage committed to enhancing each other’s glory. Are you committed to enhance your spouse’s glory in gender, in love, in peace, in parenting, in callings, and in sexual intimacy? There are too many couples that feel torn down, devalued, and demeaned by each other. Life is hard enough and the world is so unkind that we need a home where marriages are committed to enhance each other’s glory in the midst of living life together in a fallen world.

WHY SHOULD WE ATTEND THIS CONFERENCE?

With this conference, our hope is to remove distractions and create a space where you can invest in the health of your marriage now and forever. 

Who can attend this conference?

Current married or engaged couples.

Not a part of Citylight North Lincoln Church? No problem, we’d love to have you attend!

Is Childcare provided?

No, we want this time to be completely free from the distractions of parenting, which means not hosting children in the same building as the conference. If you have newborn littles they are welcome to accompany you. 

What specifically will the speakers teach on?

Bob and Karen, will share primarly content from Bob’s book Enhancing One Another’s Glory in Christ: Premarital and Marital Counsel for Christian Couples along with their own experience. 

When does the conference start and end?

Saturday, March 22nd from 9 am – 3 pm

Check-In/Registration is Saturday from 9-9:30 am.
